Terms of Business

Thank you for choosing Marlborough Insurance Services Ltd (M.I.S.L) for your insurance requirements. We are a group of independent intermediaries and are committed to providing a high standard of professional service. We offer a wide range of personal and commercial insurance products and on occasions operate as an agent of another intermediary and we will make it clear to you where our proposals include these facilities.

All personal information we hold about you and your business will be treated as strictly private and confidential and under the Data Protection Act 1998, you have the right to see personal information about you that we hold on our records.

Duty of Disclosure

It is your responsibility to provide complete and accurate information when you take out your insurance policy, whether proposal forms are applicable or completed, throughout the life of your policy and when you renew your insurance. If any material information is omitted or misrepresented insurers have the right to void the policy. If you are in any doubt as the relevance of any information it must be disclosed.

Claims Notification

Insurers pass information to the Claims & Underwriting Exchange Register to prevent fraudulent claims. Any claim notification made under your policy will be registered accordingly. It is essential that we are informed immediately of any claims or circumstances which may or may not give rise to a claim.

Payment of Premiums

M.I.S.L will request payment of all premiums by invoice, allowing 14 days for settlement and certainly no later than any actual renewal date. Any delay will result in withdrawal of cover by insurers. In addition to insurers premiums, and additional premiums, and Insurance Premium Tax, M.I.S.L reserves the right to make a separate charge to cover administration costs and these are shown separately on any invoice. It is your responsibility to pay premiums on time and as required by policy conditions.

Charges may also be made to cover cancellations or mid-term adjustments.

Please note that liability premiums are issued, unless otherwise stated, as “minimum and deposit ” premiums, i.e. in the event of policy cancellation mid term, no refund of the annual premium is given.

Documentation

It is our intention to provide a high level service to you at all times. All documentation including renewal notices will be sent without undue delay and we ensure the information we provide is clear, fair and not misleading, to help you make an informed decision before you commit yourself or your business. We will explain to you any differences, key features including cover and benefits, significant restrictions or exclusions and period of cover. We would strongly recommend any documentation is checked by you. We would also prefer to act on written, faxed or emailed instructions to change or amend any policy cover. Where verbal instructions are received, we will always send written confirmation of the action we have taken.. We will also document any recommendations made by us, but where you decided not to proceed.

Complaints

Marlborough Insurance Services Ltd. are proud of their reputation for high quality and service, however it at any time you are unhappy with our services to you, you should write to our Complaints Director, Mrs Nicky Chopak, 38 Queen Street,bude.EX23 8BB. We will deal with any complaint swiftly and fairly, it will be acknowledged promptly. We will explain how we will handle your claim, tell you what you need to do and let you know how your complaint is progressing.

Should you not be satisfied, then your complaint can then be pursued through the Financial Ombudsman Service
